I am forever indebted to His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada for inspiring and motivating me through his teachings and in his books. Srila Prabhupada taught how to obtain real freedom. He taught the meaning of equaltiy and how to see all living entities with equal vision. He taught real success. He demonstrated real compassion. He realized truth, and distributed truth freely. He dedicated his life to benefit mankind (up until his last breath!) Question: Exactly what is Krishna Consciousness?
Srila Prabhupada: Love of God- that is Krishna Consciousness. If you have not learned to love God, then what is the meaning of your religion? When you are actually on the platform of love of God, you understand your relationship with God- "I am part and parcel of God." Then you extend your love to the animal, also. If you actually love God, then your love for the insect is also there. You understand, "This insect has a different body, but he is also part and parcel of my father; therefore, he is my brother." Then you cannot maintain a slaughterhouse. If you maintain a slaughterhouse and disobey the order of Christ, "Thou Shalt not Kill," and you proclaim yourself a Christian or Hindu, that is not religion. Then it is simply a waste of time- because you do not understand God; you have no love for God, and you are labeling yourself under some sect, but there is no real religion. That is going on all over the world. -The Science of Self Realization (pg. 201)

ON BRAINWASHING
"We are not brainwashing, but brain-giving. Where is your brain? You must first have a brain; then we can talk of washing it. You don't know who you are. Take a dead man and a living man- what is the difference? Because you do not know, you have no brain, and therefore you misunderstand. We can give evidence in court from Bhagavad-Gita to show this. We can prove that you have no brain. You are like the cats and dogs, even if you pose as a philosopher. For centuries this information has been missing: tatha dehantara praptih, "The soul is changing, one body after another". A person who had a brain will understand this simple logic. The body is changing from childhood to youth. When the important thing, the soul, is missing, it is a dead body. Where is your brain to understand it? Arjuna was chastised for this by Krishna, who said, "You have no brain, and you are lamenting about the body." They don't know the real thing, despite their big talk. They say life is a compination of chemicals; but then mix them and let life come. You can't do it. You are cheating people. You have no brain at all."

ON VEGETARIANISM...
Ample food grains can be produced through agricultural enterprises and profuse milk, yogurt, and ghee can be arranged through cow protection. Abundant honey can be obtained if the forests are protected Unfortunately, in modern civilization, men are busy killing the cows that are the source of yogurt, milk and ghee; they are cutting down all the trees that supply honey, and they are opening factories to manufacture nuts, bolts, automobiles, and wine instead of engaging in agriculture. How can the people be happy? They must suffer from all the materialism. Their bodies become wrinkled and gradually deteriorate until they become almost like dwarves, and a bad odor emanates from their bodies because of unclean perspiration resulting from eating all kinds of nasty things. This is not human civilization. -Srimad-Bhagavatam (5.16.25)
Some rascals put forward the theory that an animal has no soul or is something like a dead stone. In this way they rationalize that there is no sin in animal killing. Actually animals are not dead stone, but the killers of animals are stone-hearted. Consequently no reason or philosophy appeals to them. They continue keeping slaughterhouses and killing animals in the forest. -Sirmad-Bhagavatam (4.26.9)
He who sees everything in relationship to the Supreme Lord, who sees all entities as his parts and parcels, and who sees the Supreme Lord within everything, never hates anything or any being. Sri Isopanisad- mantra 6
Men who are like dogs, hogs, camels and asses praise those men who never listen to the transcendental pastimes of Lord Sri Krsna, the deliverer from evils. SB -2.3.19

ON ILLICIT SEX AND PUBLIC OPINION...
Social Worker: What you call "ideal character" is only your opinion. It may not be ideal to someone else.
Srila Prabhupada: No, it is not my opinion- it is the verdict of the sastra (scripture). Opinion- what is the value of opinion when the people are like dogs and asses? What is the use of taking the opinion of an ass? This "Vox populi"- taking the opinion of the public is degrading modern society. If the public is composed of drunkards, smokers, meateaters, gamblers, and woman hunters then what is the value of their opinion? Why take the opinion of fourth-class men?
